IVANO BUAT
After obtaining his diploma under the guidance of Blanchod, Ivan Buat completed his studies with B. Nilsson, A. Ghitalla and C. Price. In 1987-88 he attended the Scuola di Alto Perfezionamento Musicale in Saluzzo, studying with P. Thibaud, B. Soustrot and S. Verzari.
Ivano Buat has been invited to play first trumpet in such important Italian symphony orchestras as the Filarmonica della Scala, the Rai National Symphony Orchestra, the Pomeriggi Musicali Orchestra of Milan, the Orchestra Regionale Toscana, the “A. Toscanini” Orchestra of Parma, and with important opera theatre orchestras, such as the Teatro San Carlo of Naples, the Teatro Carlo Felice of Genoa, the Teatro Fenice of Venice and the Teatro Regio of Turin, where he has held the permanent position of first trumpet since 1992.
He collaborates with international orchestras, such as the Swiss Radio Symphony Orchestra of Lugano and the Oberengadin Symphony Orchestra.
Along with his chamber music activity with the Ensemble Antidogma, the Ensemble ‘900, the Pentabrass Quintet (with which he has realized recordings and television performances), etc., he has also performed as soloist in Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Roumania. Recently, he performed the Haydn Trumpet Concerto at the Teatro Regio of Turin and the Arutunyan Trumpet Concerto at the Auditorium of Lingotto.
His didactic activity includes courses and specialist master-classes at important Italian brass festivals. In 1996 he was professor of trumpet at the Conservatory of Alessandria.
Ivano Buat plays exclusively YAMAHA trumpets.
