VINCENT LEPAPE
Vincent Lepape graduated from the Conservatoire Nationale de Musique in Paris, and continued his studies at the Conservatoire Nationale Superieur de Musique in Paris, where he received the First Prize for trombone in the class of Gilles Millières and the First Prize by unanimous vote for chamber music in the class of Jean Douay. He then studied further with Yves Demarles, B. Slokar, Ron Baron, J. Mauger, J. Alessi and M. Becquet.
Beginning his professional activity at an early age, he has collaborated with the most important French orchestras, such as the National Orchestra of France, the National Orchestra of Lyon, l’Orchestre de Paris, the Paris Opera Orchestra, the Opera of Metz. He has also been invited to collaborate with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra of Montecarlo.
After playing at the Teatro San Carlo of Naples in 1994, Vincent Lepape won the position of first trombone with the Teatro Regio Orchestra of Turin.
Together with his orchestral activity, Vincent Lepape performs as soloist and in chamber music, and has made numerous recordings. Among them is the Italian premier of the Symphony for Trombone and Orchestra by Ernest Bloch.
Vincent Lepape has taught at the Conservatoire du 15ème arrondissment of the City of Paris, the Liceo Musicale of Varese and the Scuola Civica of Turin.
He plays exclusively YAMAHA trombones.
